WHO and red meat cancer scare!

According to WHO 43 in 100.000 will get colon cancer. If those 100.000 start eating red meat another 8 will get it.

WHO calls it 17% increased risk. Relative risk.

In fact, 43 out of 100.000 is a 0.043% risk. Which increases to 0.051% IF ( and that’s a big IF ) WHO got their results right.

How did they get their results? By a) looking at observational studies ( the worst kind of science ) b) observational studies based on food questionnaires. Oh hello…What did you eat for lunch 11 years ago?

Humans have eaten meat for millions of years. Meat has allowed our brains to develop by delivering quality energy, freeing us up to become intelligent and use our time to better things than chewing and digesting plant matter.

A chimpanzee spends most of its time chewing, eating, waiting for the stomach to empty so it can start eating again.
Humans spend a fraction of their day eating thanks to energy dense foods like meat and fat.
